Hey everyone,

My name is João, 24 years old and living in Lisbon, Portugal.
After finishing my engineering masters and before my PhD, I decided for an eight-month adventure trip in southeast african countries with a friend from college. We won a Gap Year contest in Portugal and we got sponsorship for this adventure that will include lots of travelling and volunteer work.

I have many different passions and I am always eager to learn something new.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have created my profile for this adventure in Africa. Although having a lot of experience travelling and staying in hostels, guest houses and friends houses, I am now looking to have a more authentic and traditional experiences in the places I visit by meeting locals and making new friends.
