About Me

IN COIMBRA UNTIL THE END OF JULY. I'LL CHANGE LOCATIONS PERMANENTLY AFTERWARDS.

Hi there! I'm João and I'm currently finishing my master in Mehanical Engineer at the university on Coimbra.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

UPDATE - 26/06/24
As I'll soon leave Coimbra behind - end a cycle and start a new one - I've decided to come back to couchsurfing and relive this experience. May life strings pull us together.

It's been 4 years since I've started my couchsurfing experience. I've created my account when I've done an interrail trip in the summer of 2017 and that was, sadly, my last big trip.
As I'm not planning to do another big trip until the end of my course, couhsurfing as been my way of travelling without leaving my home. I love this particularity of couchsurfing: to be able to meet new cultures, listening to your stories of life (and travelling with them) and creating new friendships without travelling in the true meaning of the word!
So, if you want to feed my adventure/travelling spirit and to teach me about your culture, send me a request! (Plus 10 points to you if you mention this in your request :) ).

Music, Movies, and Books

This is difficult to awnser!

Music: All classic rock is good but I will say Baby I'm going leave you - Led Zeppelin. Another good one would be Laterallus from Tool. Lately I've discover an amazing artist called Alex Serra, that I really like, so: Outter Space from Alex Serra

Movies: All Tarantino's movies are great so it's difficult to decide... And we have also the good old movies, from the 70's to the 90's... But I'll say "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood".
But, lately, it seems series are getting better and better.

Books: I'm an avid reader. But most of my books are from portuguese writers. Do you know Saramago? What about Fernando Pessoa? Which author from your country would you advise me, and why?

Teach, Learn, Share

Recently I start to practice Qigong and I was invited to give classes, but I have zero experience... Would you like to be my test subject?

Let's light a candle and an incense stick and meditate for a bit?

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can give you a tour around this amazing City of Students, at day or at night (if I have the time).
I can share my stories, teach you bout my culture, and about our beer, wine and food. Also, you're more than welcome to teach me about (or bring) your beer, wine and food!
I can also have great conversations about a plethora of subjects. So, if you're like me and you like to share your way of seeing the world and discuss about it, I'm your buddy!
