Hello, my name is João, I was born in Brazil but I've lived in the USA. I'm currently in San Sebastián. My time is mainly occupied by being outside, and school. I'm studying Biomedical Engineering at Saint Louis university. My passions involves anything outdoors. I love to bike, run, hike, and explore. I also love learning about the little things, and about hobbys people have!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel, however, doing the normal traveling alone, in a hotel or hostel doesn't really let me learn about the places I visit. I think places can be cool, but nothing beats meetings locals and learning from those people!

Interests

Cooking:I'm a novice but I love practicing and learning new dishes

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I listen to a huge mix of music. I enjoy some bethoveen while reading. I also like some classic rock from the Beatles to the grateful dead. More current music I like is Mumford and Sons, Imagine Dragons, and Walk the Moon. Also enjoy random country songs.

Top three movies: gladiator, Lord of the Rings, and Batman Trilogy.

Favorite books: I'm a big fan of Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment. Also been a lifelong fan of The Little Prince.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked in the Andes Mountain to a random abandoned village and spent a freezing night there with a single wool blanket. The mixture of the cold, tiredness, and being the the middle of no where made for some of the most interesting conversations.

I love languages, and I enjoy sharing languages with other people!

I know some about cooking. Especially a Brazilian dessert recipe! Food is always an interest, especially food specific to certain cultures.

I love sharing about books, I try reading a lot and I love talking bout literature with people!
