CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to make the most of my stay in Cambodia and Asia in general. I'm trying to learn as much as possible about other cultures, other business practices and also make friends worldwide

ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm 23 years old and I used to live with my girlfriend in Sao Paulo, Brazil at the same time I was enrolled in the Business college of the University of Sao Paulo (USP). During 2008-2009 I worked for AIESEC at USP. From August'09 to Jun'10 I worked for a Brazilian Real Estate company. Further, from Jun'10 to Jun'11 I worked for a British bank. At the end of this experience I realized it was time to enroll an international internship and then I looked for AIESEC back again. I first focused in Europe but soon I opened my eyes and found that the world is much bigger than that and maybe it was time to try some different experience. I found my last job position, applied for it and was selected. I took a 45-hour journey to get there and my learning experience happened since the beginning. Now, I've went through more than 6 months and have traveled a bit around Southeast Asia with some destinations and an upcoming major stay of 1 month in China and other 2 weeks in Europe before getting back to Brazil. It's being an amazing experience and I'm totally thankful for it. I'm so happy about having the chance of seeing the world with my own eyes and since I would like to inspire people to the same I've been writing a blog about my experiences: hldyncambodia.blogspot.com

PHILOSOPHY

I have a very strong understanding that we are all responsible by what surrounds us in a very basic way. If we have access to knowledge and better understanding about the facts and challenges of life is our obligation to share that knowledge/understanding and to give the best example possible for society. In that way we are going to teach what we know and going to learn what we don't know.

I've watched some interesting movies and have read some nice books. Movies: As Good As It Gets / The Bucket List / Les Miserables / etc. Books: Around The World in 80 Days / Robinson Crusoé / Art of War / First They Killed My Father / Finance books! :P

The sunrise reflected in the waters of Angkor Wat, Cambodia. The colored sunrise and sunset in Halong Bay, Vietnam. The clear bright water in Ko Phi Phi island, Thailand. The walk through the tops of the canyons in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The view at the Cristo Redentor statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The desert of salt in Uyuni, Bolivia.

I think it's pretty hard and maybe you cannot stay CSering at someone's house so long but always when you can, try to really live in the place you are visiting. So far I have done that only in Cambodia but it gives me a completely different understanding of this culture and much of undeveloped countries issues rather than just staying a few days in each place. A daily routine will truly show you the ups and downs of a culture, things that you cannot see or notice in weeks or even some months.
