Why I’m on Couchsurfing
People person. Been relatively active in the Couchsurfing community since 2015, I'm not only using it to meet travel buddies, seeking for local adventures or fun/intellectual conversations at the local meetups, hosting weekly couch surfer events (since 2017) when I'm not traveling has also been a majority part of how I enjoy the Couchsurfing platform. Those fun time where we had blasts at board games nights, potlucks, drink and draw events, has ensured an argument for my self-exploration that - I love learning through various lenses from people coming from different cultural backgrounds. I love the sense of community, I shall as well contribute, create it. And now - I love creating it a little bit more day by day.
Interests
- Long walks: coming from a notion “Practise” in Buddism, walk the walk, feel the walk, appreciate the walk. But yeah, I am simply a passionate walker in general!
- Museums and galleries exploreration: I (part-time) work as an art curator, and I mean who can ever get bored of them?!
- Music scenes: As a typical Asian kid (I know, right lol) who studies the piano since 5, I myself am an angry keyboard player (fortunately, not angry driver, because I don't drive), embrace all things related to music: outdoor music events, livehouse, lounge, bar, club (if right people right mood), etc, count me in, please.
- Urban adventures: interested in urban legend stories, history, political affairs, architecture, gentrification, dating culture, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Field recording: ambient city sound collection in Berlin, finalized them into my mixtape
Residency art exhibition on gentrification - as a curator, invited local and international artists to a peninsula on Yangzte river for a tribute to the discussion of Chinese demolition. Always keep my eyes on social issues and local livelihood through anthropological approaches
- BYOB (Bring Your Own Beamer): focusing on feminism, the correlation of pain & pleasure, to raise the awareness of breast and cervical cancer, is my first digital + performing artwork. If you're a creative, or/and interested in feminism (my grad school major has a concentration on gender studies), let's do something fun, please.
- 24 Hour Project: a 24-hour long nonstop photograph march in the city, taking one picture per hour throughout a day. Works are displayed in Lima, Peru, dedicated to an Indian NGO working on the improvement of education for young women.
Teach, Learn, Share
- Chinese language: I voiceover games, commercials and (part-time) voice train people professionally for radio and television. Great time language lover. So if you like to learn some Chinese, I'd be more than glad to teach and share my culture.
- Piano lesson: Learn one of the most famous pop songs in the 90s in 10 minutes with me? Yep. 10 minutes. Besides that, I'm working on jamming. If you do music, let's jam!
What I Can Share with Hosts
If we get along well, I will not hesitant of taking into account sharing my 1. (G)old daddy's jokes, 2. My celebrity impressions, 3. My awkward dance moves, 4. Multiple accent challenge.
