I have been studying film for several years now. Since 2013 I am studying at the school of fine arts in Hamburg.

Je m´appelle Johannes.
Depuis quelques ans je fais des films, une occupation que je prend de plus en plus serieux. Je suis un étudiant de l´école des arts à Hambourg depuis 2013.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To me couchsurfing is a great way of getting to know a foreign place. Talking to the inhabitants creates a first image, a feeling for the space you´re about to explore.
As a documentary film maker I am always most interested in the people I encounter abroad.
Moreover I feel less like an outsider when I am staying with a local.
I do also enjoy hosting travellers as they add a good portion of suprise and excitement to everyday life.

Pour moi c´est une bonne facon de decouvrir un lieu inconnu. En parlant avec des habitants on recoit une première image. Parce que je fais des documentaires le personnage est le facteur le plus interessant lorsque j´arrive à l´étrange.
En plus je me sens moins étrange si j´habite chez un/e habitant/e, plus integré.
J´aime bien abriter des voyageurs aussi parce qu´ ils enrichent les jours ordinaires.

Interests

I enjoy exploring my neighbourhood - only recently I left my apartment in a street which is mainly inhabitated by a large Sinti family owning every second house there. During my two years of living in that place I got to know the different parts of the clan and their members.
Gardening is something that I enjoy very much. Planting the seed and watching it grow calms me down. I got into the garden business only last year, so there is still a lot I can learn from crooked carrots and snail infested salad.
While we´re at it - I am really interested in all kinds of handcraft but not very experienced so far. There are plenty of plans in my drawer (like a light shower for my neighbourhood in the last dark Hamburg winter) waiting to be properly executed.

J´aime bien decouvrir le voisinage. Jusqu´à rècemment j´habitais dans une rue au bord d´Hambourg parmi une grande famille de Sinti. Pendant mes deux ans là-bas j´ai rencontré tous les differents membres de la famille et leurs histoires.
En plus j´aime beaucoup le jardinage. Ca me calme lorsque je suis tendu. J´ai commencé seulement l´année dernière, alors il y a peux encore beaucoup à apprendre. Toute la semence fermée dans mes billons ca prouve.
À propos, des artisanats differentes m´interesse, mais je manque de l´éxperience.
Il y a quelques plans et croquis dans mon tiroir qui attendent d´etre mises à l´execution.

Music, Movies, and Books

I´ve come to enjoy classic German music over the last months - Schuberts "Winterreise" is one of my favourite pieces.
Louise Attaque is in my ear on every way to the mailbox these days.
I do enjoy Electro and Dubstep music after sunset.
The last book that impressed me and caused me to pause solemnly after the last line was "L´Étranger" by Albert Camus.
Right now I am reading "Deutschstunde" (German lesson), a post-ww2-novel by German author Siegfried Lenz.
"Liebesleben" by Zeruya Shalev, the last book I read without putting it down once.
"The act of killing" by Joshua Oppenheimer is one of the better known documentaries that deeply impressed and influenced me.
I like "Fitzcarraldo" by Werner Herzog but enjoyed his production diary "Conquest of the useless" even more.
The last film I watched in cinema was "Taxi Teheran" by Jafar Panahi.
I haven´t watched a single Bollywood movie which I consider a experience gap now.

De plus en plus j´écoute la musique classique allemand - Presque seulement le "Voyage d´hiver" de Schubert en effet.
En moment j´ecoute souvent la musique de Louise Attaque.
Electro et Dubstep - aprés le coucher du soleil.
Le derniére livre qu´a fait de l´effet à moi était "L´Ètranger" d´Albert Camus.
En moment je lis "La lecon d´Allemand" de Siegfried Lenz.
"Vie amoureuse" de Zeruya Shalev, adhérait à mes doigts.
"The act of killing" de Joshua Oppenheimer est un documentaire que m´a impressioné trés gravement.
J´aime "Fitzcarraldo" de Werner Herzog et le journal qu´il à tenu pendant la production "La conquete de l´inutile" meme plus.
Le derniére film que j´ai vue au cinema était "Taxi Teheran" de Jafar Panahi.
Je n´ai jamais vue un film de Bollywood, c´est une lacune, je sais.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hitchhiked from Hamburg to Paris with a friend because we wanted to see a theatre play. It took us more than 24 hours because we got stuck outside of a small town just an hour away from Hamburg. We arrived in Paris the next day and fell asleep when the light turned off and the play began.
It was a very enriching experience.

C´était le veille de Paques. Toute ma famille mangeait ensemble lorsque mon oncle a recu un apell. Il est veterinaire et le personne qui lui a appellé était un pion, un producteur de lait. Mon oncle m´émmeneait dans sa voiture et nous allions à la ferme. Une vache avait recu une veau et en meme temps perdue sa matrice. Alors, mon oncle m´a dit de tenir la vache avec toute ma force tandis qu´il mettait la matrice à sa propre lieu.
Enfin j´était imbu de sang et la vache apparement comme avant.

Improving my French is really important. Moreover, anybody who is willing to share knowledge about basic skills in outdoor survival has my ears and eyes.

Je peux t´apprendre l´Allemand et l´Anglais.
Je sais faire de la cuisine allemand et quelques plates internationaux.

J´amerais beaucoup améliorer mon Francais. En plus tous les artisanats m´interesse.
