My name is Jocelyn and my family and I are travelling around Europe for about 4 months, sightseeing and learning as much as we possibly can about different cultures, languages and ways of life!

I am travelling with my husband, Jeremy (a qualified Plumber and Gas Fitter), our 2 year old daughter, Tahlia, and my mother, Nuree.

We live in Tasmania, Australia and are travelling around Europe February - June 2016. We are hoping to keep our dates as flexible as possible, but are hoping to stay 2-4 nights at each stop, or whatever suits our hosts!

We have now been to Italy, Greece, France, Germany and are now in Austria! We have had our first three couch surfs and loved them! We've also done 6 workaways in Europe and 2 in Tassie before we left home! We are still wanting to visit: Prague; Berlin; Hamburg; Amsterdam; London/England and possibly Scotland and Ireland!
We'd love any advice or tips also!

I love the experiences couchsurfing and workaway provide and the opportunities they offer to meet and learn from others! We are very excited to travel around Europe and see some of the sights, but even more so about the opportunity for the cultural and language exchange! We are also keen to learn as much as possible about cooking; healthy eating; gardening; farming; animal care, sustainable living and a whole lot more.

I am a qualified teacher, child care worker, swimming instructor and fitness instructor. I love to dance and learn.

My mother, Nuree, works in childcare and in a cafe. She is a great cook and cleaner and is kind, giving, positive and caring - an all round wonderful person to be around! 

Jeremy is very practical and handy, he is willing to have a go at anything and enjoys a multitude of tasks. He loves history, music and martial arts!

We moved in with my husband's parents a few months before we left (before I'd even heard of couch surfing!) So couldn't host then but we definitely plan to host when we get home!

We all enjoy cooking and learning and trying new things. We aren't fussy eaters and are happy to try just about anything and we all love to cook!

We are all non smokers.  

We are all happy to share the one room, or separate rooms, and Tahlia will sleep in our bed, so we'd just require a double and a single bed/mattress/couch for my mum - if you may have or know someone who may have the room for us.

Tahlia is a very happy little girl and is happy to do most things and she loves all animals if you happen to have pets!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to gain a true cultural experience of the amazing places we will be visiting and I'm really interested in seeing how others do things and how I can improve my ways. I want to learn as much as I can! I love the idea of the culture and language exchange! I'd love to see your favourite places and I'm hoping these may lead us to great experiences off the main tourist destinations. I'd love to experience a day in the live of our hosts and taste their local food and favourite dishes!
Of course I would love to contribute to this exchange by returning the favour, by cooking for my hosts, by teaching them something new, by helping them out in any way I can and by offering them and others a place to stay when we return from our travel and settle in a place of our own!
