About Me

Mid-30s self-employed entrepreneur and contracting consultant, producer. Work in the festival, concert, theatre, art and film sectors. Also a freelance writer, formerly the web editor for New Orleans' longest running music and culture monthly magazine. Also a super awesome New Orleans tour guide and/or person to know to point you in the right direction or introduce you to worlds of alternate, underground, indigenous or counter culture in New Orleans. (I also have great connects and suggestions for you in Detroit, where I was born and raised) Lived mostly in New Orleans for more than 10 years now.

Music, Movies, and Books

Waaaayyyyy too many to name.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Started a web-based business in 2003/2004 with a friend/colleague that was user-generated and operated similarly to many now-popular social networks, 3 years before Facebook or Twitter were even launched. Ran this web-based business for 6 years with 2 other partners and expanded it from 2 cities to 25 over this time. Essentially, spent the 2nd half of my 20s as a full-time culture-tech entrepreneur with 2 other awesome, brilliant, forward-thinking women. Dissolved that partnership at the end of 2010, but was still an amazing fail-up accomplishment/experience.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am smart, super considerate of shared space, clean, neat, low-maintenance, have common sense AND street sense, honest, trustworthy, have tonsssss of great connections in cities across the continent in the music, art, film, festival, culture world that could probably be beneficial to you in some way. I've been a music tour manager, so people skills and travel sensibilities are a given. I have done quite a bit of community organizing and social justice work. I get along with almost everyone -- because we ALL have something in common. ~ I am mostly here because I am interested in housing SWAPS. I'm happy to offer you a free, or next to free, place to stay while you are in New Orleans, if you can offer me a free, or next to free, place to stay while I am in your city. !
