ABOUT ME

I, Jocelyn used to have a seperate cs profile but have just added my boyfriend Michael to mine as we couch surf together and will then host together. If you send a message or recieve one it will be most likely written by me.

I am have just completed a bachelor of Natural Environment and Wilderness studies at the University of Tasmania. I am passionate about the environment and photography.

Michael is a composer who writes a variety of music, but specialising in ambient.

We have both just spend the last 10 or so months in England. Too many of these months we spent working to save for our traveling. We left England in late August and have since been to Belgium, Germany, Prague, Austria, Slovenia, Italy and France. Our new plan is to go up to Norway where we will spend six weeks living in a cottage on a lake which we are going to rent. After this, we go back to Ausralia for Christmas.

PHILOSOPHY

That we need to experience negative experiences to truly appreciate the positive ones and to live in the moment as that is the only tangible time as the past has gone, and the future is yet to happen!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Michael and I are currently couch surfing our way around Europe. When we go back to Australia and are settled in Melbourne we plan to host surfers then. We like to exhange stories and information about cultures with others, so couch surfing is wonderful for this. The whole concept of it apeals to me because it makes journeys possible that may not be otherwise. Also, there is no better way to explore the world than to meet people from the places being visited. You can build friendships, good memmories and gain a deeper understanding of the places travelled. Also, it is much more fun that just staying in a hotel room!!!!!!!!!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Michael and I have now couch surfed many times in Europe and are still traveling and couch surfing! We are really enjoying meeting people and how each experience is so different and always fun.

Jocelyn: Photography, Graphic Design, Travel, Environmental Science, Music (mainly metal, but also classical and rock, alternative)and going out for dinner to try new foods. Might I add: coffee, cats, coffee, cats, coffee and cats!

Michael: Writing music, playing music, listening to music of all kinds, hiking, photography, hanging out under a tree, not driving in the middle of Monza on the opposite side of the road, cooking, eating etc.

We have now driven across a large part of Europe. Driving up the Swiss Alps would have to be the highlight so far!

I know about a reasonable amount about the Natural Environment In Tasmania, Zoology, Botany and Geography. I am a bit rusty in some areas, but like to re-visit those that i have touched upon to refresh myself. I have a reasonable level of general knowledge, and i love to acquire bits of new information from others as well as sharing what i know! (Just don't ask me about maths, physics or chemistry as i wont know anything! haha)
