About Me

Hi, I'm José, but my friends call me Joche. I'm from a small town in the interior of Argentina and i finished the University for Medicine. I live with my brother Juan who is a lawyer. I really enjoy football and reading books. I also love cooking, and i make an excellent stew. I'm learning to play the guitar.

I'm travelling right now, mostly in Spain and Italy, getting to know new places and learning new languages!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really love the way CS helps complete unknowns to connect and know each other. You can't truely know a new city, if you don't get to know its people, to live among them, and share.

Interests

I LOVE watching movies. Lately i've developed a preference for european movies, specially great directors like Tarkovsky, Bergman and Wender. My other passion is football; i'm a Boca Juniors fan, but i enjoy watching the uefa champion's league.
And of course, my true love, medicine! I feel truely lucky for having chosen my carreer.
I like learning about countries too. To inform myself about cultural and historical data of all the countries i visit. I love listening to music and i try to impose myself new music every year, so i can stop saying "i don't like this". I also try to read a lot, although my university studies prevent me from doing it too much. Lately i have been catching a really nice interest on photography.
And i really like cooking.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love tons of films. Woody Allen, Tarantino, Nolan, Ridley Scott, Bergman, Wender are some of my favourites directors. I admire Andrei Tarkovsky, his films are art, and is a good writer too. I love movies about the world wars, science fiction; well actually about everything. I don't like the distinction of genre; the same movie may be able to awake all kind of feellings and emotions.
I really enjoy reading, but i don't have much time for it. I like Sabato, Rilke, Camus, Allende, Tolkien (the ones i remembrr right now). I've recently read
Others lives but mine, by Emmanuel Carrere, and i loved it, i really recomend it.
Music i would say pretty much anything. I specially like British artists like Foals and Indie folk like Edward Sharpe, Mumford sons and the Magnetic Zeros, The Luminiers. I also love classics like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, SupertrampRight, Genesis. And must say that i'm a big fan pf Alt-J and RHCP. Now i'm really enjoying Devendra Banhart and recently i've discovered CFCF and Vancouver Sleep Clinic! Reeaaaally cool music.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe that the only way this world can get "bigger", is by passing on knowledge to the younger, but also to the older. Knowlede has no owner, and must be shared. That's why back in university I teach Medical Physiology

I really think we all can teach and learn something with any other, and i can teach all the things i find beautiful about my country and the places where i've been happy. I hope i can learn something alike from people.
I think every contact with people who belong not only to other culture, but also to another mindset, makes you richer.
Even people who you disagree with have (most of the time) good points to make about things, and i like that better than only talking to people i agree with.
About sharing, i guess the whole CS mentality is what i would like to share.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share myself, my story. I can also cook some Argentinisn dishes, or anything else.

Countries I’ve Visited

Portugal, Spain, Uruguay
