Overview
About Me
Bona fide Jamaican living in Los Angeles, microcosm of the United States and the article Concrete Jungle of west coast! Previously, I was science and robotics teacher in Texas for about 2 years where, rather than imparting knowledge, I found I learnt a lot more than I was expecting about myself and the world from my own students! Currently, I am involved in academia and cultural relations with a foreign ministry-- hoping to continue studies in Economic Development/ International Relations.
I will add pictures for my apartment this weekend!
I love music, dance, theatre, learning about other cultures, other languages, experiences that diverge from the Western norm--hence, I'm here!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To, perhaps, learn how to walk a few miles in someone else's shoes, to learn more about this world in whatever way that I can! This will be an interesting experience! I'm open to what the world has in store...
Interests
You can learn something new from almost anything, if you are receptive, so this whole world fascinates me! Wide-eyed fascination.
Music, Movies, and Books
Favourite music? I don't really have a favourite, but I like artists, and people, that push boundaries of convention; for example: Bjork! Favourite movies include: Amelie, The Revenant, Chocolat, Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, El Laberinto del Fauno, Como Agua Para Chocolate, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (book and movie).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hot-air balloon flight! :) This is just the start, if I have the good fortune in this life to keep breathing then, I will constantly seek to expand this list!
Teach, Learn, Share
Be humble and treat people well-- the way you expect to be treated. It has been said that the greatest thing you'll ever learn...
What I Can Share with Hosts
Experiences, music, friendship, joy!
Countries I’ve Lived In
