About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To learn, share and understand ourselves and the world a little more
ABOUT ME
We had done little travelling before we decided to take a couple years out from living in oz and travel during 2010/11. We lived and worked in Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto for 18 months and spent 6 months travelling in USA and Canada + getting a little taste of South America.
We returned to oz, got married and had itchy feet so decided to travel in Europe in mid-2015, found work in England before returning to Australia after 18months. We now have a little family and won’t be travelling overseas for a good while!
We love experiencing new cultures - local life, food specialties and pastimes as well as the must-see's!
~~~~~~
I (Jodie) started a stationery range in australia and is now available at www.jfrank.com.au if you're interested!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We decided to try couchsurfing on our 2010/11 trip away and LOVED IT - so we spread the word! We got back in November 2011 and have enjoyed hosting and culture swapping while we save for the next trip!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We were very hesitant at the start and have been overwhelmed with the hospitality that our hosts showed towards us. We LOVE couchsurfing and the experience you gain from it, it's such a fantastic concept to allow you access to local knowledge and experiences + potentially making new friends!!
others | 2wk roadtrip to the red centre; hiked Machu Picchu; experienced several of USA NP's; saw Bolivian Salt Flats, biked the Worlds most dangerous road; walked in Valle de Cocora, Colombia and played tejo (Colombians with their crazy gun powder games)!
Teach, Learn, Share
Mick, and even I, have had a go at teaching the uninitiated the rules of cricket...we do try to set the record straight on some myths - ie. they are not called shrimp, they're prawns and we don't commonly put them on the barbie - also Fosters, although marketed as an aussie beer is not readily available in australia.
