About Me

CURRENT MISSION

On a gypsy quest to discover the soul of each corner of the country. Currently in the last quarter, NW.

ABOUT ME

I'm ok with the strange.
Very low maintenance.
On Jan. 1st of this year, I started a 25k mile roadtrip. Now I am here!

I'm an itinerant laborer now, traveling off money I make through interesting craigslist jobs including construction, landscaping and moving gigs. Its been great learning to let go a bit and let random invite its way in to life. In the past, I've taught math to at-risk high schoolers, played bass in a band that opened for Blues Traveler, and can go head to head with anyone in an eating contest.

Lastly, it should be known that if for some reason I die on your couch, I would like for my body to be donated to a hungry carnivore, preferably a beast at the top of the food chain like a shark, or a wolf- really, anything except birds. I am not a fan of most birds.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE ON COUCHSURFING

I have surfed many a couch, but never through Couchsurfing.com. I would like to find a place where I can tell some stories and pitch my bedroll for the evening.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started couch surfing when I was 19. I took a 6000 mile bicycle trip and camped a lot, but would meet people at gas stations, restaurants, campuses, etc. who would invite me to stay with them or friends down the road. One person, a pediatrician from Richmond, VA, gave me his number on the side of the road and told me to call later in the day. He and his network ended up hooking me up with people to stay with in Atlanta, Mobile, Houston, Apache Nation, and San Diego.

Other experience includes crashing with people when touring as a musician and with co-workers while working on the road.

Interests

My current interests this year include reading, writing, rambling, paleo diet, lifting, surfing, reading, vegan diet, parkour, and longboarding while playing blues harmonica to folks on the street.

I also love playing video games with all ages.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Led Zeppelin, Notorious BIG, Nina Simone, Debussy

Movies: Big Fish, Rudy, Yellow Submarine

Book: Catcher in the Rye

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ran Boston Marathon without training, twice, to win a $20 bet and 6-pack from a (twice) skeptical roommate.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a great magic trick.

I am interested in learning about alternative methods of living including green solutions, dietary habits, creative life hacks and mindful advice.

I will share a story from the road less traveled.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach and share the guitar, bass guitar, viola, blues harmonica, or how to use a computer to record high quality audio tracks.

I can also lift heavy objects and fix pretty much anything except electricity around the home.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Mexico
