About Me

My name is Joe and I'm from Cheltenham, England (The Olde one).

I am currently sharing this profile with my partner Rosalind Roomian; a painter from San Francisco, USA.

We have been backpacking in Central America and Mexico for 4 months and are now spontaneously hopping down to Peru!

I have a degree in Theoretical Physics and love to cook, chat and meditate. My favourite things are always new experiences; so I will happily join in with any unusual activities that hosts throw at me. I am also a yoga instructor and happy to share the practice with those that are interested.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My dream is to travel the world on a shoestring. And to do it properly. Tourist sites and backpacker hubs are fun, but my search is for novelty and to see the other ways of life. Staying with local people is an ideal way to discover these experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music;
Hip Hop. ROCK N' ROLL! Pop classics that you can't help but sing along to. Anything that has an unusual sound that surprises me.

Books;
Anything and everything from hardcore philosophical behemoths such as "Crime and Punishment" to the lightest of chick flicks that my Mum happens to leave around. Every book can tell you something. Even the most basic can help you understand the mind of the writer or of those who enjoy their books.

Recent favourites; "The Dice Man" by Luke Rhinehart - a novel about a man who makes every life decision on
the roll of the dice.
"Sapiens" by Yuval Harrari - An antropological overview of the development of human
civilisation.

Films;
Original plots and compelling performances are what turn me on the most. And sci-fi.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
