Mid thirties, with a boringly ordinary day to day life. I'm hoping to change that, though, and more fully embrace the arts that I love.

I want to travel! I want to see the world, but more to the point I want to meet people. I don't want to go the traditional tourist route and just soar on through places without ever touching the ground; I want to get out there and meet people and tell them stories and hear their stories in return. I want to listen and learn and grow, and I want to offer as much as I am given.

You know, this really changes depending on my mood. I can go from listening to Vivaldi's Four Seasons to thrashing out some old school Metallica, then in the next beat listen to some Wardruna or even some modern pop (I never learn the names; it all changes so fast these days!). It's the same with books, and movies too (although I will guiltily admit that a movie is always far more exciting if it has explosions in it).

I always think of everything I do as ordinary - one small step, and then another, and then one more, and then suddenly I've done an amazing thing. But I suppose signing up to circus school was pretty amazing!

I'm a natural storyteller. I'm pretty sure that comes from loving the sound of my own voice a little too much, but ultimately it means I can tell you tales of New Zealand - of Christchurch and the Canterbury Earthquakes, of how a city was knocked to its knees and found its way back up, of the natural history and splendour of the city I call home. Or I can just crack jokes and try to make you laugh; it's all the same really - so long as I'm entertaining, I am happy.
