I'm a recent college graduate, pre-med, living/working in the Philadelphia area while I apply to medical school. If I get in somewhere, I'll start school in fall 2017.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For years, I've wanted to travel but never gotten the chance. If I get in somewhere for the 2017 cycle, I'm planning to leave my job in the spring and spend the months before I start school finally doing the traveling I've always wanted to do. My main goal is to spend time in Latin America to improve and hopefully reach fluency in Spanish. Aside from that, plans are still up in the air, but I have several regions in mind!

Music, Movies, and Books

A couple of my favorite books are A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini and One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez. I love the musical In The Heights. I like e.e. cummings. I think I have pretty low standards for movies because I rarely find one I dislike.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sadly most amazing things either happened when I was too young to remember or happened to someone I know. Maybe that will change within the next year.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I might not yet be able to compete with many of the people on this site for exciting or interesting stories to share, but I can be a listening ear/captivated audience for yours, and there are a wide range of topics I want to talk about with people. I'll be a respectful guest who cleans up after himself. I'll be your language exchange partner if you speak Spanish, Arabic, or Korean and play soccer with you if you play, because I want to improve.
