Overview
About Me
Born in Hong Kong and raised in Toronto, Joe Poon is a grown-man in his late 20's who has recently moved back into his parents' basement. It's not so bad. He spent the past two years living in Japan as an English teacher and salary man before deciding it was time to go on adventure. The last four months he spent on a solo camping bicycle trip with his dog that eventually evolved into a 50cc scooter joyride down and back up the spine of Japan.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Joe wants to make a ton of friends and make his friends friends of each other's friends so they can make even more friends.
Interests
Joe missed hockey so much. His beloved Maple Leafs are on the rise, but it will likely take another 3 years before the team matures into (hopefully) a true contender. Once it gets cold, he's going to drive to his local icerink and lace em up for a game of shinny.

Music, Movies, and Books
Joe loves horror and futurology. Put the two together right and Joe gets wet just thinking about it.

Joe once cycled from Tokyo to Nagoya for a total of 444km on a momma-cherry with his 3-month old chihuahua-yorkiepoo cross puppy in his front basket and about 15kg of gear. He learned
Teach, Learn, Share
Joe wants to see the world and explore as much of it as he possibly can on his time here on Earth. If he could live to see the day he might be able to move to Mars, he will have lived a truly fulfilling life. In the end, he just wants to make meaning in his life through listening to others share their stories and building lasting connections with those around him.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Joe can tell you what it's like to live in Japan. Tokyo was his hood.
Toronto is his home. He can show you even more there.
