About Me

I am a 19-year-old English male, who has been living in New Zealand for over 8 years. My family consists of one older brother who has left home for the NZ army, and two successful parents both working in Nelson. I consider myself to be a mature and independent individual who is punctual and pragmatic. Whilst appreciating time to myself a significant part of my time is spent socializing with my friends and family. Last year I worked & travelled around Europe for 6 months and am now back in Nelson working full time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To Meet locals on my travels through Europe, this is one of the most important parts of travelling for me.

Music, Movies, and Books

My Favorite music would be alternative and indie rock bands such as alt-j, Boy & Bear, Lord Huron,Milky Chance and Vampire Weekend. I have a very broad range of music so i enjoy listening to a lot of different genres.
I watch a fair amount of films from old to new in all genres. Some of my favorite films are 'No Country For Old Men', Saving Private Ryan, Prisoners and Donnie Darko.
I don't read as many books as i watch films but some of my favorite books I've read are 'The Outisders' , Too Close To Home, The Road and No Easy Day.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was the leader/Captain of a 'House' in my college . The college was split into a few groups called houses which were color coded and lead by a chosen last year student. Throughout the school year each houses competes against one another in a house cup including all kinds of sports and competitions ranging from football to house singing, swimming and cross country. I went for the leader position and after speeches, voting and staff meetings i was chosen to be the leader. This was one of the most changing, educational and enjoyable experiences of my life. I lead every event and with the help of other seniors organised teams and training. From pushing my comfort zone in leading house singing and speaking in front of 1500 boys to learning valuable leadership skills and mentoring, the experience really developed me into who i am now.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach my own passion, skills and knowledge of; media studies, social science, boxing, football, piano or even just how to make a good flapjack.
There's plenty id love to learn such as the Italian,French and Spanish language. Id love to learn about new cultures, differing ways of life and personal philosophy.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my own travel and life experiences. I would love to share my insights, knowledge and passions which may inspire or just entertain. I would most like to give something back to the locals of the places i visit and support someone in some way. But most importantly i can share a good time and a responsible reliable friendship .
