About Me
Note: I won’t be in Australia from July
I am a 21 year old student from the University of Sydney. I am studying a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in accounting and business information systems. I also work part-time in a small accounting firm. I love travelling solo, and I am currently doing my first big solo trip from Istanbul to St Petersburg up through all of the countries in between.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to learn about the places I visit, and more importantly I want to meet the people of these places. I want to know what makes one country different to another country and how the people are different to me, and more importantly, how they are similar to me.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favourite music at the moment is the music of Kirin J Callinan (a fellow Aussie). I like a lot of different types of music including indie rock, hard-core punk/metal, some rap (I need someone to give me a solid recommendation in rap to make me listen to the genre again) among other genres. Some of my favourite artists include e.g. Alex Cameron, Arcade Fire, At the Drive In, Beck, Boris, Car Seat Headrest, The Cure, Death Grips, Elliott Smith, Everything Everything, Father John Misty (just saw him live), Fishmans, Fugazi, Jeff Rosenstock, Jimi Hendrix, King Crimson, Louis Cole, McLusky, Melt Banana, Neil Young, Pavement, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Ween, Weezer
Favourite movie of all time is School of Rock (so cheesy I know, but I think I remember every line in that movie). Can't think of too many more movies, but I've seen quite a few of the 'classics'.
Some recent favourites include The Great Game by Peter Hopkirk (historical account of the British and Russian Empires competing for territory in central Asia). I just read Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts (absolutely amazing book and a big inspiration to go travelling and to go on adventures and see the world). I've read quite a few history books especially on Russia and many of the Eastern European countries (which is why I am doing a lot of travel in this area).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hmmmm... one amazing thing I've done would probably be doing this solo trip from Istanbul to St Petersburg. Truly eye-opening experience for me.

What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share experiences I have had while travelling and give you insights into what life in Australia is like (spoiler: it's not cheap).
If you want to stay with me, I want to know whether you read my profile! If you send me a request please tell me one book/movie that you really enjoyed. That way I know you have read my profile (and also because I always need new book/movie recommendations)
