ABOUT ME
Hello world. I'm Joe.
I'm currently living in BC, Canada about to embark on a 5 week roadtrip through the USA. I am a landscape architect but have been taking a break from that to explore Canada and north America since November of 2017.
I've been lucky enough to have experienced a lot of my own country which many Australians haven't done, having been to every state/territory, mostly by car.
In my gap year after finishing high school I traveled to Europe with my friend for a month or so and loved every bit of it! I also went back to Europe in the winter (European's winter) of 2012/13 and saw snow not on a mountain (weird). Traveled through Scandinavia and Britain, Germany, France and Belgium mostly by train. I also went to Europe again during July of 2015to Croatia and Slovenia.
I also traveled through south east Asia. Spent a month going south to north in Vietnam and seeing Cambodia and Laos.
I might be heading your way (or can meet up in Melbourne or give some Melbourne/Victorian advise) and would love to meet new people and hopefully let me sleep somewhere!
PHILOSOPHY
To enjoy the ride
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have very little experience with this (despite being a member since 09, woops). But I'm very keen to host people and to sleep on some couches myself.
Interests
My interests? Hmm I like music and making music, despite my musical abilities. I like to get outside and see and experience new things and meet new people. In general, just to have a good time, most of the time. I suppose you could add in various other common profile interests in their as well, but these cliche's are true!
- architecture
- design
- music
- skiing
- swimming
- mountain biking

Music, Movies, and Books
I love myself a good movie. I don't mind a lame 80's 90's movie, but never say Back to the Future is lame.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Swimming with elephants, but make sure to swim upstream of them! Otherwise the gross factor gets pretty high.
Abseiling down waterfalls in Dalat, Vietnam.
