ABOUT ME

Along with the life time study of medicine, writing, playing music, and painting, I am a travel addict. My heart is always contemplating when and where I can travel next. I enjoy traveling to the remote part of the world and experience what others do first hand. It gives me a perspective in life, reminds me of how little I know of this world and life. It drives me to be a better humanitarian person. I enjoy meeting the “locals” anywhere I am traveling to, love to eat and drink local food , do what they do and see their way of living. I find it better than the tour bus and star hotels, mixed with a “typical” tourists.

Drawing with charcoal and pencil and attempting to paint with a water color, which Joe77 used to make out of flower leafs and different plants, was one of many methods used to explore his ideas through art.

Artist Joe77 grew up in Addis Ababa Ethiopia, and although he did not major in Fine Art nor is he a full time artist, he took his craft close to heart and continued pouring his heart and soul into his creations inspired mostly from daily journaling, travel and experiences in life.

While perusing a career in the United States, he was encouraged to cultivate his talent in selective art classes throughout High school, undergraduate and graduate school education. Painting in seasons and on his break time, Joe77 has accumulated art work, some dating back 20 years. There is no boundary when creating his art. He has recently become quite comfortable with non representational approach (abstract art), where he disguises deep meanings and mysteries concerning life that can be best understood non-verbally.
