About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Sharing my culture with everyone who is interested
ABOUT ME
I was born in Bruges, one of the tourist hot spots in Europe so traveling and meeting other people from all over the world is in my blood. I am so passionately involved in this, that I have been studying tourism and intercultural relationships thanks to traveling for almost ten years now. Urban, heritage and cultural sites fascinate me the most, specifically everything that is off the beaten track. I am always looking for new experiences, not only for my research and teaching activities, but mostly out of personal fascination. I love meeting creative, passionate and out-of-the box thinking people.
PHILOSOPHY
If you believe in it, go for it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have been traveling a lot to friends living abroad and staying on their couches. CouchSurfing offers me the opportunity to broaden my horizon in the sense of traveling to new destinations and meeting many other people that share the same passion and fascination for telling stories, sharing their lives and culture, and enjoying the beautiful things in life.
Interests
Movies/TVseries, sports especially football (the European version) and cycling, traveling, story telling, meeting friends at the pub, politics, teaching and science, comedy and improvisational theatre, (good) food, and anything that is being shared by passionate, creative people.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am a big fan of Deadwood, Dexter and Battlestar Galactica (the remake)... My music profile ranges from indie to belgian bossanova, electronical and dubstep, and everything in-between.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Standing at the most northern point of Europe and the most southern point of Africa... it really felt as being at the end of the world...
Teach, Learn, Share
Being a geographer, I can talk hours about the spatial dimension(s) of society and how this affects your personal live... And since I study and teach tourism, I love reflecting about the act of intercultural encountering, story telling, interpreting cultures, etc. during holidays or at my home when hosting people.
