À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

Exploring Barcelona and study Spanish

ABOUT ME

It feels a bit of a cliche writing this as I'm sure everyone on Couch Surfing loves travelling, meeting new people, interacting and engaging with different cultures, seeing new sights, having a sense of wonder and adventure infuse our everyday experience - that's what's bought us together right!?

So what else... I'm 28 years old. I am passionate about social change and ecological activism. I live in a van called Hector which I built with my father last winter. I'm really enjoying the van lifestyle, finding new places to park up all and getting into adventures you just wouldn't if you were in a hostel. I do a mixture of work; I run cycle tours in the UK and a pop up banquet in London, as well as working for a friend with a spinal injury as his locum carer. Fortunately this means I can spend quite a lot of time travelling :)

OK some other stuff I LOVE:

Food, wine, cheese, running, sunny morning cycles, laughing, learning, meeting new faces, seeing old faces, drawing with charcoal, swimming on bright sunny days, being in a warm lido when its raining, having a good stretch, tickling my own toes bizarrely.

PHILOSOPHY

Its just a laugh, so enjoy it, the big bang was just one big cosmic HA

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well I currently am parked up in Barcelona and would really love to meet up with people to learn and laugh. I have got a spare bed in the van if any travellers or people from Barcelona want to experience the city in a different way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been couchsurfing for the last 8 years, since 2007. I have had numerous people come to stay with me, especially when I was a student, and have stayed with many hosts around Europe. Couchsurfing has been great to me and I have met some life long friends and experienced some incredibly gracious and warm hospitality on my travels. I've got a terrible response rate due to a gap of a few years when I didn't have a couch to offer and stopped using the email address I was registered with - a deadly combo.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Hummmm I listen to LOADS of audio books since having the van - whenever I am driving or drawing or cooking, it's probably a bit much really. I generally listen to non fiction stuff, philosophy, anthropology kinda stuff, but have recently discovered the delights of fiction and dramatised poetry again, hurrah! Last 5 books I've read (listened to) were.....You're it - Alan Watts, A short History of Nearly Everything - Bill Bryson, Under Milk Wood - Dylan Thomas, Game of Thrones book 1, How Google Works. What an odd mix.

I always disgust and disappoint my friends with my lack of cinematic knowledge I'm afraid. I don't dislike films, just shit ones, and for some reason guys seem to love settling down to a shit film about robots and lazers. Boring! Although as a child (late teen, OK adult) I've watched the 1930s Robin Hood film with Errol Flynn a ridiculous amount of times. I might even be wearing tights right now...

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

Yes please.

I'm learning Spanish at the moment so any help with that would be sweeeet.

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

What can I share eh. I know quite a lot about permaculture and teach introductory course on that. I have basic organisational skills :) I know, get in the queue right. Oh I have built my own home (Hector the van) I'll put some pics in the photo section. Happy to share anything you'd like to know about that.
