Overview
About Me
I live in Fairfax, CA, which is a wonderful community in Marin County, just north of San Francisco, across the Golden Gate Bridge. This is part of the larger San Franciso Bay area, where I was born, raised and went to college. I have never moved from here because people from other places tell me that it is the most beautiful place in the world.
I am a tour guide in the famous Napa/Sonoma Wine Country, just 45 minutes to the north of my home. The country side is beautiful and so are the people. I love my work, which is not only rewarding, but gives me both enough time and enough funds to travel once a year.
My politics are very liberal, but I do not judge anyone for their point of view. If anything, I try to see what I can learn from them. And that is very rare too, since there are much better things for me to talk about than politics. I also enjoy abstract painting and performing story telling.
I am in my mid-forties now, but feel that I am still very young at heart, since I have never been married or had kids. I do enjoy all kinds of people, though, be they kids, seniors, families, communities, couples or lone individuals. I'm a very positive, upbeat and easy-going person who knows how to get along with just about anyone.
I'm also very neat and meticulous about cleaning up after myself and not leaving any kind of "footprint" on the home. I don't use marijuana or hard drugs, either, but have no problem being around people who smoke pot. I'm also not a cigarette smoker, except for the occasional one that I might bum off somebody at a bar or night club (and I'm not a big drinker, either).
In short, I feel that I am fun and interesting to be around, and I take an interest in other people. I like to make friends.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My roommates and I love to take travelers into our home. We are called the Butterfly House (registered under the name of my roommate, Ticor Fuller) and have hosted dozens of couch surfers over the years. This has been very rewarding and we hope to continue doing this forever.
I also love to travel and find it most rewarding when I am making friends along the way. Hotels and tourist accommodations can be very isolating. I would rather have less of that and more laughter and good times with real people. I am very excited about being able to do this.
Interests
I enjoy traveling, caves, rivers, forests, making art, telling stories, musical jam sessions, yoga, laughter and intellectual discussions.

Teach, Learn, Share
the place where I am a host, the Butterfly House in Marin, California (mentioned above), we mainly learn how to get along with and enjoy the company of others. The groundwork is very simple, but the things we teach, learn and share or as varied as the residents and guests, themselves. There are volumes...
