About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live without regrets and greet every person with a happy face.

ABOUT ME

i go by Joe, but my real name is Martin (...Joseph Brophy III).
i like learning, especially informally.
i believe in being courteous and having hope.
i enjoy speaking and understanding other languages.
i have insatiable wanderlust.
i use sports and music to relax.
i love teaching.
i laugh at my own jokes (and tell lame ones) a lot.
i lived in Israel after highschool for a year, then in Ohio (at Oberlin college) for four years, then in germany for a semester.
i reside currently in Washington, D.C. and just finished a year long service corps program where i worked for an after-school program in low-income schools. now i'm driving a pedicab(rickshaw)and working as a hebrew school teacher.

PHILOSOPHY

I hate to do this by quotes, but some people said these brilliant things long before I could of:

"Do not despise any person, and do not consider anything impossible, for there is no person who does not have an hour and no thing that does not have its place."

"Love your neighbor as yourself."

"Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could; Some blunders and absurdities crept in; Forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."
