About Me

I'm an aspiring Medicine student, I enjoy hiking, music, and the outdoors. I wish to travel free spirited, and hope to meet lots of amazing people along the way. I believe couchsurfing is the way to do that!
I am English and have studied French up until recently, so can speak some French.
(I'm the guy on the left by the way!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am travelling around Europe at the moment on a month long backpacking trip. I have spent just over 2 weeks travelling with 2 friends, but now am travelling solo. I am looking to meet locals and indulge in the local culture, appreciate cities and their architecture, and try local cuisine.
During my month in Europe, I am going to make the most of the opportunity to hike the beautiful countryside and explore the cities, towns, and villages, ensuring I achieve an authentic experience.
I believe that Couchsurfing is a great medium to meet like minded individuals who love their country and culture, and those who are charitable and benevolent.

Music, Movies, and Books

🎼 Music

Jazz is my favourite genre of music, including John Coltrane and other great Jazz musicians.
Queen is my favourite band, I have listened to them for as long as I can remember!
I personally am self teaching myself to play the drums, I used to play guitar and can still play a bit of piano. I am bringing my Harmonica with me travelling so I can play a little bit of music on the go!

🎬 Movies

I find it hard to pick a favourite film as there are so many classics I have grown up watching, but if I had to choose one it would to be Jaws. Other notable films include Dunkirk and Whiplash. I have also watched and enjoyed all of the Marvel movies. I really enjoyed Inception, I loved how intricate and captivating it was. On top of this, I enjoy comedies like Shaun of the Dead and The Mask (I love Jim Carrey!)

📚 Books

I have a number of books that I enjoy, I am currently reading multiple books on medicine, and have enjoyed reading books like Holes and the Card Turner. I also really enjoyed "This is going to Hurt", by Adam Kay. I am also currently reading L'étranger and Moby Dick whilst travelling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

🌄 Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award

I have completed my Gold DofE, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The expedition consisted of 4 days hiking throughout the Brecon Beacons. It was amazing hiking through the beautiful landscape of Wales, I felt so free summiting hills and mountains, not seeing civilisation for most of the day. This experience will certainly come in handy during my summer expedition.

🏃 Half Marathon (More than one thing... I know)

Recently, I ran my first half marathon in 1:54:27, which I am very proud of. I found it really motivating and inspiring completing such a big challenge, and I wish to run many more!

And on this holiday I have relied on the kindness of strangers for many nights, I have asked people on the street for places when I had no other options (I've not slept on the streets yet!)

Teach, Learn, Share

🎓 Teach

I have recently completed my A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Maths, so should be able to teach these! ;)
I also have a passion for Medicine (I am starting university in September) and Marine Biology, so will happily discuss these too.

📝 Learn

I am a curious individual who would love to hear and learn from your stories and experiences. I love learning about music and academics, as well as crazy travelling stories!

📢 Share

I am also very interested in sharks, after my French expedition I am going to South Africa to partake in Great White Shark Conservation. I'd love to share with you my stories and experiences from travelling and life in general ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will share my aspirations and previous travelling stories, as well as my positive energy! :)

I am a helpful person and will go out of my way to ensure my host is having as good a time as I will be!

Thank you for reading my profile! Please don't hesitate to get in touch to ask any questions of your own.
