Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To explore the world and immerse myself as much as possible in foreign cultures, people, food, and drink.
ABOUT ME
Ever since studying in Greece a few years ago I've had the travel bug, and now I've given into it completely.
Last fall I spent 2 months driving across the US with a good friend. We took nothing but my car, a tent, a cooler, and an adventurous spirit.
Now I'm about 2/3 through 3.5 months of traveling around the world, from Israel, to SE Asia, to Turkey, and now Western Europe.
PHILOSOPHY
Live is a journey. Enjoy every step along the way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I just recently discovered Couch Surfing (as you can tell by my relatively empty profile and lack of much feedback) but I can't think of a better way to experience foreign culture than actually staying with locals and hearing their perspective and insider knowledge. I'm planning on trying to surf on my travels for the next few weeks, after which I'm really excited to make my own couch available in E. Rockaway, NY (about 30 minutes east of Manhattan).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I surfed in Hamburg and Amsterdam and Budapest so far, stayed with some awesome people, and had overwhelmingly positive experiences.
I'm now surfing in Vienna and having a blast.
Looking forward to hosting.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love practically all music, except for Country music.
My favorite movies are: the Shawshank Redemption, The Untouchables, This Is Spinal Tap, Gladiator, The Godfather (parts 1 and 2), and so many more.
I'll read anything and enjoy it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A few weeks ago I hiked up to the Chimaera in Olympos, on the southern coast of Turkey. The Chimaera is a natural phenomenon where gas leaks from below the Earth's surface and bursts into flame on contact with the air above. I was hiking up a mountainside and all of a sudden I saw dozens of flames billowing from in between rocks and cracks in the ground. It blew my mind.
