About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Living a little different. Living happily, sustainably and full tilt. Trying to learn and teach.
ABOUT ME
I moved out to a small piece of property I own in the middle of know where - off grid as they say - a few years ago to escape from crowds, polution, electricity, running water and all those things. In that I have been a success, so be warned! Currently building a sustainable homestead in the desert which is quite the project and nowhere near being done but I try to make a little progress each day. The outdoors and the outskirts of society have become my roost. Freedom, real freedom, is something more and more lacking in todays society and it's my goal to explore ways of living that emphasize finding it. Money is no longer my main ambition, I would rather help others as I can and hope that they will return the gesture. I fully respect anyone elses beliefs weather I agree with them or not. I don't get preachy and don't plan on being preached at.
PHILOSOPHY
You gotta love others more than you love yourself. Life is to be lived, not sat upon. I opt not to believe in reincarnation because I think it would make me sloppy. Each day alive is a great thing, what you do with it is up to you.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfing has been one of the most incredible quagmires I have yet to get myself into! I originally got into it when we moved off grid because . . . well honestly because theirs a definite shortage of women living off grid. It has since become a more (slightly) nobel undertaking. The people I've met through CS in the passed two years have opened up so many proverbial doors and eyes I can't imagine not being a part of it. The surfers who have come through and shared with us have run the gamut from city kids to broke hippies, college students to drifters, single moms with kids to care free whosits, hitch hikers to harley riders. All with stories, hopes, ambitions, beliefs and passions. Their is a certain quality within those who travel in this manner, a devil-may-care attitude combined with a zeal for life and the love of taking whatever comes your way. I have not had much time for travel since I put a shovel in the dirt and started the building of a home- these are the people who remind me to think beyond my own hard labor. I'm on couchsurfing for the faith in humanity it has brought me.

Music, Movies, and Books
If it ain't rock, it ain't shit! That being said, blues, folk, bluegrass, old country, metal. I like music with a story to tell. Music that sounds good around a camp fire. Pretty much anything other than that weirdo, soulless, gotta-be-looped-on- molly, electronic crap. Movies: Noirs, anything by Guy Richie. Books: The Monkey Wrench Gang need I say more? Anything by Cormac McCarthy, Annie Proulx, Ken Kesey, Larry McMurtry, Edward Abbey.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The current ongoing construction of my sustainable home is what stands out as my amazing feat.
Teach, Learn, Share
On the property we have a wide range of skill sets including wood working, earthship construction, hide tanning, food presevation through canning an pickling, marksmanship, salve making, survival skills, chainsawyery, fishing, and general off the grid living. I would happy to share these skills with interested parties and learn anything in return.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Beyond food and shelter their are layers to peel - I'll share whatever anyone cares to know or experience.
