Overview
About Me
British maths student back in the UK after a year in Montreal. I love stories and play and music and food. They/them pronouns.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Staying with locals brings you much closer to the essence of a place. Having had great experiences with hosting and being hosted, I want to keep meeting incredible and diverse people from all over the world.
p.s. I think couchsurfing is a great way to meet people and I will decline requests if it seems like you haven't read my profile and are just looking for a place to sleep to save a bit of money. The only exception is people who are genuinely in need, who may have been left homeless at short notice. Thanks!
Interests
I've performed music in many guises- I've previously conducted and arranged for choirs, performed in experimental noise groups- but I'm probably happiest playing guitar and singing with friends and family.
I love math. I'm aware that might scare you off but I'm convinced that I can convince you of its beauty if you give me 10 minutes ;)
I'm also a big fan of programming and currently love creating interactive visuals for performance. Also queer culture. Alsoalso, philosophy, cycling, radical politics, reading, partying...

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Peter Gordon & Love of Life Orchestra: https://play.spotify.com/track/13QhbfXVXYz3Wlll4sZVzM
Movie: Gulistan, Land of Roses
Book (fiction): Currently obsessed with George Saunder's short stories. So tender.
Book (non-fiction): I'm writing my final year project on network models of revolution and repression. So reading a lot of political theory. Also quite a bit on humanistic psychotherapy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Road tripping down the coast of Morocco, sleeping rough on the beaches and being woken just by the sun and the lapping waves... uh
Teach, Learn, Share
What I can teach
Music: I play several instruments: guitar, piano, accordion, trumpet, harmonica, Appalachian dulcimer... And I love singing. I think it's the single best thing you can do to keep your brain healthy and your heart happy. I also really enjoy teaching music theory.
Media: Film (I worked as a filmmaker for a year before uni), photography, photoshop, final cut etc.
Math: Give me a chance
What I'd like to Learn
Languages: I'm super happy to stay with people who can teach another language, particularly French
Apart from that: anything you are passionate about!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Music, conversation and overly ambitious cooking.
