About Me

I am a young guy from Canada in search of adventure, and making memories and growing friendships with other amazing people. My relationship with God is pretty much center of my life. I am in awe of the beautiful diversity of humankind and I love meeting and learning from people and cultures different from my own. I appreciating the satisfaction of a hard days work, accomplishing things and challenging myself. But, sometimes work gets monotonous and I find myself being rejuvenated with an extended backpacking trip through the mountains.
Really not much of a partier.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the idea of seeing places you travel to through the eyes of locals. Such a big part of travel is the people you meet. I believe in hospitality and love to be able to meet and share a sliver of my life and world with other fellow adventurers and travelers. Besides, hotels are expensive and kinda lonely.
Sometimes I get frustrated by our individualistic and self centered culture and yearn for a deeper sense of community.

Interests

I love the outdoors! Whether that be hiking, canoeing, backpacking, camping, or watching the sun set listening to the crackling of a lively campfire, the wilderness is my home. I love playing music and wish I had more time to practice my guitar and piano and I attempt singing once in a while. I love bucshcraft and learning primitive technologies. I love learning and for fun pick up history or philosophy books for a lazy afternoon in the hammock. I enjoy discussions where my worldviews or opinions are challenged and where I can likewise spur others to think deeper.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent a night under the stars on the top of a mountain in Guatemala watching an active volcano spewing glowing, molten lava hundreds of feet into the air all night.

Teach, Learn, Share

Would love to teach some wilderness survival skills. Or some basic bushcraft projects... Build a backpack, snowshoes or such with basic tools and bush materials. If you visit in the winter there is a possibility I might have an igloo up to sleep in!
I love to take friends out hiking or canoeing the local lakes and rivers.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I enjoy cooking now and then! Also would love to share my limited skills of music.
