About Me
Hola! (Hello) my name is Joel.
I was born in Mexico, but I grew up in California USA. I am fluent in English and Spanish. I'm a fun loving person that lives in the moment. Life is short, so why not enjoy it!? I look forward to meeting amazing people from different cultures!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
All of my life I've been a typical tourist. While it's been fun, I'm ready to learn more about the places that I visit. I want to get to know the people, the food, the sights, and the sounds. Full disclosure.... I'm still going to take a lot of pictures and I will be buying souvenirs for family/friends/coworkers :-)

Music, Movies, and Books
A bit of everything. I'm always open to new sounds.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've dedicated the past 10 years of my life to public service. Currently, I'm a translator (Spanish-English)/Community Worker. Having a Bachelor Degree in business and a love and talent for the business world.... I've found out that I love serving the community much more. Most don't understand why I chose to forgo a much higher earning profession in business for a profession in public service.... But, for me, it's not just about how much you make, it's also about the impact that you have on the life of others.
Teach, Learn, Share
What can I say... I'm an open book with plenty to teach and with plenty of blank pages that need to be filled... Do any of you care to contribute to those pages?!
What I Can Share with Hosts
As a Mexican that grew up in California, I have have a rich/blended culture. My blended culture consists of Spanish/English, hot sauce, hamburgers, rock and roll, mariachi, tequila, and much more. I am as much American as I am Mexican... And proud of it! I will definitely give you and idea how it is to be a Latino growing up in the U.S.
