I am a young 22 year old male. I graduated from Virginia Tech in 2016 and now I work for a living. I try to learn from other cultures and I know/speak Russian. I enjoy talking to other people about their lives and their views of the world. I am not a crazy party animal, I am actually vary calm and I enjoy staying in with friends more than going out on the town every night. I live a spartan lifestyle so if you have a bug net and a hammock I wouldn't complain about where I sleep. (Sleeping on a rock lowers your standards haha).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am couch surfing because I like spending time with new people and getting to know them.
i know, it sounds general but of course I like being to the point with my reasons.

I don't think going to a hotel is fun because I am separated from others and I can't really talk to someone who is a part of the community. I would love to hear from members of the community about events that may go on.

I think couch surfing is a great way for me to meet new people and learn different points of view. I am open minded to the view/ beliefs of others. I have my own convictions and views, but that doesn't mean I don't want to hear about it from others.

Interests

Hiking, museums, fishing, hunting, drinking beer, and experiencing foreign cultures. I am also interested in learning to cook, so if you have any recipes to share then I will glady accept them. Although spices may have me begging for water.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: My favorite music is based usually on the season of the region I am in. If it is hot I enjoy a bit of american country and some smooth acoustic. In the winter and fall I enjoy alternative and heavy metal music. If it is spring put on that good good rap, then top it off with some chill EDM.

Movies: I am a huge nerd for superhero movies and fantasy movies. I would suggest you do not watch them with me if you dont want commentary and information on themes, meanings, and general trivia. I am no stranger to horror movies and I can watch them all day. I love movies that I have to watch twice (i.e. Usual Suspects, John Dies at the End, and Donnie Darko). If I have a guilty pleasure for one genre in particular it is old kung-fu movies (especially badly done and cheap ones).

Books: I love to read historical book that make the heros and villains of history into very real people. I like the humanizing of moments in history from the perspective of people who were there and were just regular people. I also like good fantasy and science fiction books that are done well (i.e. Dune, Chronicals of Narnia). I love magical realism, and I am a fan of classic authors.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been afforded the opportunity to go to Russia and Estonia in order to learn Russian Language. I spent 2 months in each country. In my time there I was able to climb a bridge over the Moscow River. I saw Lenin, and visited the Kremlin. I have fallen asleep on a foreign beach with a cold beer in my hand while fishing. Maybe it isn't too amazing but I believe I will do more amazing things in the future. So this section is subject to change.

What I Can Share with Hosts

- I am a very disciplined and orderly individual with my stuff. So obviously I do not want to mess other people's stuff up. I can help clean up after myself in the area I will stay. I believe in leaving a place cleaner than when I left. My Mema taught me that.
- I can also share with others my own life and engage in conversations with the Hosts I will have. Although if you want me to be a ghost I can be invisible and you wont think you are hosting a person. (Seriously it happens too much)
- I am pet friendly and I don't mind children.
-If the issue is also food I will pay for my food. I know that I can survive wothout food for a couple of days, but I dont expect to do that to another person. Thus I will buy my own food.
- I am a calm person and I don't often come back blind stinking drunk. If something happens due to my negligent actions I will take responsibility for my actions. At the same time if you want to drink with me, come out. Loose lips sink ships.
