About Me

Hi, Thanks for taking the time to read my profile.

So, last year I spent seven and a half months travelling around South East Asia, before ending up in Australia, and I loved every minute of it! During my travels I went to some beautiful places and met some incredible people along the way.

At the minute I'm back at work and dreaming of going travelling again! But, until then I'm trying to squeeze in seeing as many new places as possible.

I love going "off the beaten track" and spending time with the locals, as I believe that's the best way of learning about a new culture and understanding how people live their lives.

My favourite activity would have to be hiking - I could walk for days! 😁 (probably why I love seeing new places so much). I spend hours aimlessly walking around new places whilst getting lost in narrow backstreets, all the while singing Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" in my head.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would love to meet new people who can show me a more local way of life. I would love to experience things away from the usual tourist trail.

Hopefully, from those experiences I can also make some new friends along the way!

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to music other people's "guilty pleasures" are what I listen to on a daily basis. But, on the whole, I'm pretty easy going and will often, all be it begrudgingly, listen to my mate's blasting out some tunes of the rap persuasion.

If I had my choice, I would listen to Pop music all day. Artists such as Bruno Mars, Coldplay and Maroon 5 would probably be some of my top picks.

When to comes to books, I will almost certainly choose pieces that are non-fiction. I mostly enjoy pieces on economics, politics and philosophy - exciting, I know! At present, I am slowly getting through the mammoth read that is Adam Smith's "Wealth of a Nation".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, I guess upto this point I may have lead a relatively uneventful life.

I suppose you could say that travelling is possibly the most amazing thing that I have done do far. As after years of debating the pros and cons in my head I have finally decided to take the plunge!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will be able to help hosts to improve their English skills, if they would like. We could also talk about the amazing experiences I have had so far whilst travelling, as well as share my stories of my life back home - if you want to stay up until 2am!
