Argentino, de Córdoba. 30 años. Fui una persona servil y obediente casi toda mi vida, hasta que me percaté de mi mortalidad. Si quería un cambio real en mi vida, debía animarme a ver qué había detrás del decorado que alguien más había montado para que viviera mi vida. Gracias a eso, es que desde julio de 2016 metí toda mi vida dentro de una mochila y viajo por donde el corazón y la curiosidad me lo pidan, escribiendo sobre lo que siento y retratando con mi cámara lo que veo. Viajo a dedo y acampo lo más que puedo. Adoro la independencia que me dan mi pulgar y mi carpa. Viajo con poco presupuesto, porque no necesito más. "El lujo es vulgaridad", dijo un poeta contemporáneo argentino, y tiene razón. Quiero conocer personas, su cultura viva y su forma de pensar, sentir y hacer, y para eso no necesito dinero.

If I wanted a real change in my life, I must to dare to see what was behind that scenery someone else had set up before so I could live my life there. I hitchhike and camp as much as I can. I love the independence that my thumb and my tent give to me. I´m on a budget, because I don´t need more. "Luxury is vulgarity," said a contemporary Argentinian poet, and he´s right. I want to meet people, their alive culture and their way of think, feel and do, and to do that I don´t need money.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Porque para poder entender mejor el lugar donde me encuentre, voy a necesitar primero conocer a su gente. Couchsurfing es eso: la posibilidad de conocer, en primera persona, a las personas que construyen día a día, la identidad y la cultura de cada nuevo lugar visitado.

Because to get to understand better the place where I´m in, I´m gonna need first to get in touch with its people. Couchsurfing is that: the possibility to know, in first person, the people that build every day the identity and the culture of each new place visited.

Alguien a quien admiro mucho supo decir una vez: "Mi banda favorita es la que estoy escuchando en este momento". Me gusta mucho el cine clásico. Me entristece ver cómo los efectos especiales y las computadores le ganaron terreno a lo orgánico y al trabajo artesanal de antaño. Por eso, siempre busco conocer más sobre el cine independiente y de bajo presupuesto. Algunos de mis directores favoritos son: Hitchcock, Woody Allen, Alex de la Iglesia, los hermanos Cohen, Tarantino, Pedro Almodovar. Pienso que Cinema Paradiso, de Giuseppe Tornatore, es la película más hermosa jamás rodada. Deudas pendientes: Bergman, Tarkovsky y Kurosawa

Si hay algo que extraño de mi vieja vida en la ciudad es mi biblioteca. Amo profundamente la honestidad con que escribía Dostoyevski. Sus personajes eran crudos y humanos, llenos de miserias, amores, penas y ansias furtivas de entender la vida. Nunca nadie podrá escribir nada que se acerque a Crimen y Castigo, ni nadie podrá describir jamás con tanta maestría la psicología de un personaje como Dostoyevski lo hace con su Raskolnikov. Otros escritores que me gustan mucho, son: Dickens, Tolstoi, Huxley, Jack London y muchos más. Deudas pendientes: la literatura latinoamericana.

I really love classical cinema. It saddens me to see how special effects and computers are taking over the organic and craft work of the past. That´s why I´m always looking to see more independent and low budgets films. Some of my favourite directors are: Alfred Hitchcock, Woody Allen, Alex de la Iglesia, the Cohen brothers, Tarantino, Pedro Almodovar. For me, Giuseppe Tornatore´s Cinema Paradiso is the most beautiful movie ever made. Pending debts: Bergman, Kurosawa, Tarkovsky.

If there´s something I miss from my old life in town is my bookshelf. I deeply love the honesty with wich Dostoevsky used to write. His characters where raw and human, full of misery, love, sorrow and a burning will to understand life. Never, ever, anybody will be able to write something that gets close to Crime and Punishment, nor anyone will describe with such mastery a character´s psychology like Dostoevsky did with his Raskolnikov. No me interesa el lujo ni la comodidad. Adoro la espontaneidad y originalidad en las relaciones humanas. De mi parte, también ofrezco lo mismo. Respeto, gratitud y cooperación en lo que sea necesario, ya que creo que el intercambio y la solidaridad son uno de los pilares necesarios para conseguir un verdadero cambio en este mundo.

I´m not interested in luxury nor comfort. I love spontanity and originality in human relations. From my part, I can offer the same. Respect, gratitud and cooperation in whatever may be neccesary, because I strongly believe in exchange and solidarity as one of the pillars to achieve the neccesary change this world needs.
