Hi, I’m Joel and I’m travelling with my girlfriend Cassie for close to a year through Central and South America! We’re originally from the big beautiful rock known as Australia and love snowboarding, good vegan food and our dog Archie.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet like-minded people and try out an alternative way of travel. We’ve done a few home-stays before and found they gave us a much more authentic and grounded way of experiencing a place. It’s always great to know a local!

Music, Movies, and Books

We are constantly fighting each other to watch Pulp Fiction (Cassie) and Training Day (Joel). Our taste in movies couldn’t be more different but we both love bands like The National, Rufus and Ocean Alley, as well as a variety of techno and psytrance.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On this trip top of our list would have to be the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, The Colca Canyon Trek in Arequipa and swimming with sharks.
