ABOUT ME
Always excited to lean forward to the next great adventure.
PHILOSOPHY
I'd sure like to one day feel able to stroll through all the memories of my past. As if my life has flashed before my eyes each moment, and those images that remain have been engraved with time and care and all the light passing through.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Due to long stints without surfing or hosting, I've lost my previous profile and now appear friendless. But fear not: I'll be poaching the profiles of old friends until I gain a couple references back ;-)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Since my first Surf in 2008, I've been lucky enough to surf in nine countries, three continents, and five States in the US. I've also done a bit of hosting in North Carolina.
Interests
Tracing the trails of cultural traditions from whence they came, and squinting into the future to peek and guess at just how they will manifest.

Music, Movies, and Books
At the moment!
I'm reading Faulkner's As I Lay Dying and the collected non-fiction of James Baldwin.
Most recently I enjoyed The Grand Budapest Hotel.
I've been enjoying Sylvan Esso from Durham, NC, and Patch from Austin, TX.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Used my absentee ballot to vote for the US President in the Roman Forum, late one night in 2008.
Teach, Learn, Share
Studying Folklore in college has made me excited about the very broad umbrella of human expression, artistic or otherwise. Maybe I'll have a few traditions that others don't know as much about as they'd like to, and I know that everyone has some for me.
