About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet good people and maybe get a couch here or there on a 4 week backpacking trip of europe with my good friend Courtney

ABOUT ME

I'm always trying to find the humor in every situation. What better way to spend time than laughing with good friends? I try to be understanding and considerate, and I think giving respect to all is maybe the most important thing. I try to push my friends to become better and reach their goals and asperations. I'm up for adventure, new experiences and change in life, I think people can become scared of change and then resist it. I for my part like change.

PHILOSOPHY

I find it hard to write a short paragraph on my personal philosophy, but i'll try. I believe what most people want is happiness, which is what I try to move towards. I think having a loving family and good friends is above all, the way to achieve this. To comment on society as I've experienced it here in the US, I think certain important values can be lost or drowned out by others. Quality of life, respect for others, and simplicity somtime seem to be overrun by speed, personal gain, attaining more wealth/glory and the like. My morality and ethics are rooted with the fact that human suffering is real and very pervasive. I admit I don't do everything I could to alleviate suffering, but like many people, I try to balance my life and reflect upon what i do and don't do. I eventually want to get to a point where I have stronger convictions with regard to my beliefs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I move in with my brother in Portland, OR I will host travelers, but for now I wanna participate by using Couchsurfing to meet people and maybe get a stay here or there on an upcoming backpacking trip to europe. My friend Courtney and I are going on a 4 week trip starting June 7th.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My current place of residence is right next to a very active couchsurfing host in Kansas City, MO. I've been over numerous times to talk with travelers and meet the surfers. The hosts have lots of gatherings on their second story deck, great people. Although I may be quite new with couchsurfing, I truly believe in its concept and think it's a great way to bring people together and meet new people, which I always enjoy.

Interests

I love the outdoors and outdoor sports. Maybe most of all, I like mountain biking. I never tire of riding a single track trail i've never been on. I also like rafting(my brother owns a 7man raft in Portland, OR), climbing, hiking and snowboarding. I'm in a band called Capybara, and music is maybe what i'm most passionate about. I like recording, playing live, and just playing for playings sake. I studied philosophy in school and love to "dig deep".
