About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn street food, language, and native people groups.

ABOUT ME

I am very passionate about food in almost every aspect, mainly street food, but also about making food, growing it and learning about new ways to create ingenious flavor combinations. I am also into making music and enjoying every style of musical creation out there; I love to play the guitar. I am interested in nature and observing it, being in it, learning about it, protecting it. I love making new friends, even when we speak different languages and verbal communication is tough, and I love my walk through life following the example of the One who will save us.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life to reflect the great example of the man Jesus Christ. Personal interests of Travel, Education, Music, and Food allow me to express The love through a variety of ways.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Life of Pi. The Neuromancer Series. The Dune Series. Most books by Jack Kerouac. Most biographies of musicians.

The religious books of this world are all interesting, all have some truth in them, but the Man whom the Bible TALKS ABOUT and what Truth he teaches is the thing most special to me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seen fresh fish sold at the market on the outskirts of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia, then took a minibus inland and climbed Mt. Kinabalu. From the top, one can see the town of Kota Kinabalu, and the fish market :), and watch the vegetation change drastically as the elevation increases, breathtaking views of the clouds, the ocean 100km away, and the volcano face itself... A wonderful trip. My favorite single trip so far in SouthEast Asia.

Usually an unprecedented experience involving food, those who create it/prepare it, and a pristine location is what I search for when I travel; Beautiful people, beautiful vibes, possibly beautiful music (possibly even being created on the spot), and beautiful nature all around. As any traveler knows, its the combination of things, and usually a few that are unexpected and unplanned, that will make a travel memory golden!

Teach, Learn, Share

Everyone willing to accept that they are both a student AND a teacher! :) Like the philosophy of couchsurfing...

What I Can Share with Hosts

I don't need to be taken care of in any way at all (I live alone in the Thai countryside). I am a decent cook (I can teach how to make several Thai and Indian dishes), I do not mind cleaning, I like to read a lot, have long discussions about anything at all really, anything that you are passionate about.

I have grown up in many places, no single place to call home yet, and have had enough experiences to be enlightened, but only briefly, and to be able to say with great assurance, "I know next to nothing!!"

I always want to learn, and I usually find myself listening more than talking during these, so I guess I could say I offer a friendly and somewhat experienced ear (hopefully :) ) as a friend.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahrain, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Netherlands, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Turkey, Uganda, United Kingdom, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
