About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To greet every challenge with a smile, to slow down, to breathe deeply, to be compassionate, to trust others and to love. Starting with number 1.

ABOUT ME

I am a Brighton-born independent traveller with a passion for other cultures and an unexplainable recurring need to escape my routine life and dive into another culture every so often. I am currently living in The Canary Islands and enjoying a slower pace of life and a pretty healthy balance of fun:food:culture:exploration.
I love meeting people and hearing their stories, eating vegetarian/pescatarian food, listening to world music, meditating and doing yoga, getting lost in the mountains, sampling red wine, guzzling black coffee, making dark dark chocolate, and enjoying happy company and gripping conversation.

PHILOSOPHY

Say exactly what you mean and do exactly what you want, with diplomacy, compassion and love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Couchsurfing is a great way to discover your environment without falling into the tourist traps and just doing the usual 'sightseeing'. It's taught me to appreciate the places I visit as a 'home' and not just as another destination. Backstreet bars, secret gardens and local hang outs are all part of the menu that make up your authentic 'local' experience. I LOVE it. If you couch surf at my place you won't be my guest you'll be my friend regardless of our differences. That's what my surfing experiences have given me. All welcome!

Interests

Culture, people, visual arts/crafts, hiking, yoga and meditation, permaculture and agriculture, running, bouldering, cycling, skating, good food and wine, world/folk/roots/reggae music, environment ethics and ecology, photography, writing poetry and making music with my ukulele :-) making Kombucha and handmade raw chocolate! One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Had the courage to say YES to a lot.

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach English as a foreign language and would be grateful to learn any other international language skills or practical skills from those I meet! I play the guitar and ukulele at a basic level but I love to sing and write music and poetry. I make my own Kombucha (a probiotic drink), raw chocolate (currently from Peruvian cacao) and am learning to make organic soaps. I can also give some pretty good travel tips for Australia, Europe, Central America and Asia. I would love to share my skills, but also my thoughts with the people i meet. Yoga and meditation are part of my routine so I would love to share this with people who stay :-)

What I Can Share with Hosts
