About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel the world!

ABOUT ME

I consider myself to be friendly and outgoing and I like traveling and meeting new friends. I currently work in IT and I enjoy my job. I also enjoy music, music has been a huge passion of mine since I was 13 and I like many different genres of music. I taught my self how to play guitar and since then I have learnt to play other instruments such as ukulele and bass. I play guitar in a band and I am one of the two lead singers. We are currently in the middle of recording our ten track album.

PHILOSOPHY

We're made up of billions and billions of cells- all working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year - and they don't even know our name. I guess the same idea can be applied to all the other humans and things in the world which you depend on but never see!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I really like the idea of Couchsurfing and how it promotes traveling, I would love to meet new people and surf and maybe one day I could be a host too.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hope to start my couchsurfing experience this summer and hopefully there will be many more to follow!

Interests

I studied IT at college but another huge passion of mine is music. I taught myself to play the guitar when I was thirteen and I enjoy writing songs. I play in a band and we have performed at a number of venues in 2010 and are close to completing our 10 track album. I also enjoy playing instruments such as bass guitar and ukulele. I own 2 electric guitars and 2 acoustic guitars and I also own a soprano ukulele and a baritone, I plan to bring my baritone ukulele with me when I travel. I also teach guitar and bass lessons in my spare time.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love so many different genres of music, I started listening to Grunge bands and alternative bands and then as I got older my music taste expanded so much. My rule is if the song has melody and sounds good I will listen to it. I like genres from r'n'b,reggae, hip hop, pop, metal, blues, acoustic and some electronic music.

Movies I like true story films and films and biopics.
I also enjoy horror and comedy films.

I like reading and I am a big fan of the Harry Potter books and have read them all several times.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I started writing music with my best friend when I was 13 and four years later we started a band and we got more members and we recorded an EP and gigged around our area and created a fan base. Just finding people who liked our music was a really big thing for me, the transition from playing songs in my bedroom to playing live to people in a venue was a really big deal for me.

As far as traveling goes the most recent place i've been was Israel, I traveled up and down the country and did things like ride on camels, camped in the dessert and swam(floated) in The Dead Sea. I have also been on family holidays to America, Spain, Poland,Austria,Germany,France,Belguim and Turkey.

I've also been to a countless amount of gigs all over England, I love live music i have seen so many of my favorite bands and artists live.

The most recent gig I went to that I will remember for the rest of my life was Prince. I saw Prince in Manchester in February 2014. It was so spontaneous because he announced surprise shows online days before and he played about 4 London shows and I missed all of them because I was working and he announced he was playing Manchester and it looked like it was going to be his last England show so me and my friend decided to travel 300 miles to Manchester and queue up all day so we got to the front.

It was one of the most action packed gigs i've ever been to he played for 3.5 hours and he did seven encores. A night to remember to say the least.

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach guitar in my spare time and I would love to start teaching ukulele too! I love learning new instruments and making challenges for myself. I love taking pictures, i've just bought a new point and shoot camera to take on my travels. I plan to bring either my baritone ukulele or my acoustic guitar with me.
