About Me

-*It's been a while since I updated my profile, so this might be a bit dated.*-

I came to the US to get my masters degree, which I did, from New York. I have been here for 5 years and its been fascinating, to say the least. After grad school, I've been shuttling between New York and California for the last couple of years, mostly switching jobs, trying to find something I can stick to.

Clichéd, but yes, I love to travel, even the very sense of being in motion is as exciting as reaching the actual destination, if that makes sense?! But I haven't yet had the chance to visit many countries except a bunch of places in the US and India. Hopefully it'll all happen some day, soon! umm..I don't know what else to put in here , so please ask away!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because, this is something most people would always dream of doing and now we have a forum to participate and help each other out. So why not! I wouldn't call myself much of a social animal, but meeting new people with interesting stories is priceless and I wouldn't miss that!

Forgive the lack of references, I am a newbie and I'm looking forward to my first surf and host.

Interests

Music, Food, Basketball and Cricket! And Cars/Motorbikes .
Random conversations from something really silly to something deep and insightful. Also, if you can bake a Tiramisu, or bring one over or have one in your fridge-I will worship you.

PHILOSOPHY

Richard Feynman's:
Do not keep saying to yourself, if you can possibly avoid it, "But how can it be like that?" because you will get "down the drain," into a blind alley from which nobody has yet escaped. Nobody knows how it can be like that.

Music, Movies, and Books

Judge me if you want, but I first read the Notebook when I was 15, I think? And I have read all of Nicholas Sparks novels, and the credit mostly goes to a specific someone I used to know at the time. Other than that, I am currently not an active reader, but I did once read Archer, Grisham, Dan Brown, Coelho and a few others.
I listen to all kinds of music, except heavy metal, can't really handle the hard screaming. And, movies - LOTR.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Took a train from New York City to San Francisco. 3000+ miles - multiple stops, interesting people, fascinating stories. I think you should do it too, if you haven't already done it! And for those of you who have traveled internationally to a billion countries, I know my story isn't much, but I'm gonna catch up sooner or later.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well,I wouldn't call myself an expert at anything. But I'm sure we would have tons to talk about, especially if you are interested in hearing about culture, food, accents and stuff like that!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can clean and cook and make your bed? lol. I mean, I could help with just about anything if its within my ability. I could tell you the most boring stories and crazy ones. Point is, we would have loads to talk about or nothing at all. Either ways, it will be a memorable stay!
