About Me
ABOUT ME
I love to travel. I used to pass from country to country but now I enjoy spending a decent amount of time in a country to get to know it properly.
I'm a big fan of adventure. I’m usually thinking about when I can next absconder and discover somewhere new.
I love the variety of people you meet when you travel and the new perspectives on life.
I try to see the funny side of life. That's not always possible but it usually beats getting frustrated -the oldest recorded man alive claimed it was due to his sense of humour and eating cottage cheese! I can give or take cottage cheese...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I‘m keen to show people around where I live and to host people, whether this is Manchester or my home in the countryside.
I'm looking forward to meeting people from all over the world via couchsurfing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My most interesting couchsurfing experiences were couchsurfing on the sand in the middle of the desert in Jordan and in a Palestinian refugee camp
Interests
At the moment, I spend most of my spare time writing, reading or getting outdoors. Running, cycling and climbing are my main sports now. I'm a big fan of nature - you're never too old to climb a tree!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My trip from Ethiopia to South Africa was a thing full of amazing things. To pick one thing... the 25 hours travelling from the Ethiopian border to Nairobi through the North Kenyan desert was pretty incredible -camel's milk tea, giraffes running along side the truck, trying to hide from mosquitoes to get 3 hours' kip, keeping our fingers crossed that we wouldn't get stuck in the sand at least 10 hours more ride from the nearest town...
Teach, Learn, Share
The thing I've learnt most from travelling is that sometimes you'll do things wrong and get into messy situations but it's just all part of the game and you just have to learn from them and not get angry with yourself for making mistakes.
On a practical note, it's always good to have some plasters... sometimes the basics are the best!
