ABOUT ME
Hi! I'm a Technical Student at CERN in Geneva, doing a placement year for my undergraduate degree. I'm originally from various bits of the UK, and I call Sheffield my home at the moment. I'm a bit of a cautious traveller, but I enjoy visiting new places. I like walking, learning and thinking. Sometimes all at the same time.
Languages are something I like to chat about, and I'm always willing to share my English with a non-native speaker; I'm also slowly learning French, and would love to practise it!
I'm a bit of a folk musician: I play the Irish whistle and I'm learning the flute and the Uilleann pipes. I also play the didgeridoo and the clarinet. If you play a guitar or something I'd love to have a bit of a jam :)
I'm a vegan, and love discovering tasty new recipes. I really enjoy cooking and would love to share in cooking/cook for you, depending what ingredients are available.
PHILOSOPHY
Fight for what you believe in, but be willing to be proved wrong.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
I'm a big fan of trad and less-trad folk music (The Chair, Flook, Peatbog Faeries, Regina Spektor), but I'll also dip into various electronic music subgenres occasionally. I like The Glitch Mob and The Prodigy (who doesn't?) but I don't really know many artists. I went through a bit of a metal phase a few years ago, and I still like Rammstein and Oomph, although I don't listen to them much any more.
I'm always really keen to discover interesting new music, especially if it's a bit weird.
Books:
- Lots of Fantasy (His Dark Materials, Mistborn, The Wheel of Time, Discworld)
- The Fault in Our Stars
- And Then I Thought I Was A Fish
- Probably lots of others
Teach, Learn, Share
I know lots about computers and can teach you to code. I can also tell you about anything else in my interests.
I'd like to learn more about anything really, especially cooking and foreign languages.
