Hi all,

I'm Joe, 34 year old British guy living in Finland since 2022. Moved here with my Finnish partner.

I was previously in the Police in the UK for 8 years before changing my career and moving here. I currently work in a brewery/drinks factory.

I live in rural Finland with my partner and three cats.

I used to be very active on here back when I was living in Albania in 2012. Not really been on here in years since it became paid.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I ended up as all 23 year old man leaving my job and Moving to Albania on a whim. I became active in the local scene helping arrange meets etc. I spent a lot of my team meeting up with tourists and showing them around my city

Ive slept on a couch in Canada for 3 weeks, amazing time. After a slight mix-up with the hostel not existing I kind of ended up couchsurfing with an elderly couple in Montenegro, ended up with home made Rakiya for breakfast and lovely hosts, even if English was limited'

Met Kenneth and Jens in New Orleans. Spent a few days with them then 5 months later they invited me to come stay with them and their families. Then a year later spent a week drinking and chilling out with them :)

Interests

A lot. From surfing, music, instruments, motorbikes, travel, films, books etc etc

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not really one amazing thing just a bunch of things which were amazing for me.
Moved to Albania, ran a hostel and part owned a bar

Driven around Albania including down a sheer mountain 2 hours for 3 miles!

Standing on the top of Mt Snowdon with my best mate with the sun above us

With a cousin driving around the Canadian prairies fishtailing a Dodge Ram on a gravel road

Swimming in a snapping Turtle infested pond in Canada

Completely shaved my head for charity

Lying on a glass floor 342m above the ground, i should add im terrified of heights

Covering 5000 miles by train in 5 weeks and visiting 17 countries

Watching the sun set of Manhatten from brooklyn sat in 2 foot of snow

Motorcycling round Cappadocia Turkey
