About Me

ABOUT ME

Hey :)! I've been working and living in Yekaterinburg for a year now, I don't know all that many people so I'm looking forward to making some good friends to enjoy this great city with! I'm a friendly, cheerful guy with a good sense of humour and I enjoy all sorts of different things, especially good adventures! Not sure what else to write, oh I'm more than happy to help anyone who wants to practice their English and likewise if there's anyone out there who'd like to help me with my Russian that would be great! Looking forward to meeting you!

I have a website about the city and Russia: http://moscowthroughmyeyes.weebly.com/

PHILOSOPHY

Try everything! Also I hate feeling like I'm wasting time, I can't stand just sitting around or wasting a day (unless it's raining ;)) I have to be out, doing something and making each day an experience!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to meet up with people from all over the World, discover new things, have cool experiences and of course just hang out :). I wish I could offer my couch to surf on but sadly I live in a one room flat, so I fear it might be a bit awkward :P!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met some cool people on couchsurfing and enjoyed learning a lot of things. We had our first couchsurfing experience in Turkey and it made our trip unforgettable. When I was in Scotland I went on a trip around the country with a great group of Spanish English students :D

Interests

I love watching ice hockey, taking photographs (mainly street photography) and ballroom dancing, and learning new things about different cultures even small things. Travelling is also great of course :P. I also like most of the normal things; listening to music, watching films, visiting museums and art galleries hanging out with friends etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

Films: Everything by Wes Anderson (Rushmore in particular), I love good documentaries: e.g. No End In Sight, The Thin Blue Line and everything by Louis Theroux, Balkan cinema (Perfect Circle, No Man's Land), I love American comedies and dramas(just watched Veep, Seinfeld, Friends, Breaking Bad, The Wire)

Music: Anything with a great tune, mainly indie rock but I like all genres. Some of my favourite bands are: The Legends, Phoenix, Agnes Obel, Death Cab For Cutie, Alfred Hall, Acid House Kings, Asgeir, Club 8, Crystal Fighters, Haim, Goldspot, Kongos and the list goes onnn....

Books: Still recovering from all the stuff I had to read at uni :P

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So many things and I don't think it's all that good to dwell on the past but let me think...

Watching the London Olympics
Seeing Mount Elbrus
Travelling throughout Russia
Hot air ballooning in Cappadocia
Visiting Chernobyl
Dancing ballroom in the Blackpool Tower
Getting a photo in The Daily Telegraph
...

Teach, Learn, Share

I like learning about what people think about things, I can share my passion for getting things done, and hopefully share some time on the street taking some photos :D
