ABOUT ME

Generally I'm a openminded, happy and trusting person who like to engage in new people and activities. And I think there's a reason why we were born with one mouth and two ears...
Don't like when CS is beeing misused (see my negative reference)
Together with wih my daughter (18) and old friends I have a big appetite for culture but at the same time I enjoy getting out "into the Wild" eg. kayaking, cycling, walking, mountaineering, etc.
I like to discuss cultural and political issues and am aware of the environment and climate change (sorry but now more of a scientific fact than a belief..). But at the same time eat a good beef and drive a car now and then when practical. Think that social and educational equality forms the basis of a good and democratic society (for all, also rich&powerful people should understand this for their own sake!)
Most of my time I'm teaching science to nice young people and I like it, but luckily my job is quite flexible and allows lots of travels in between !

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Like to host & surf, have also been a member of SERVAS for more than 15 yrs. and now Warmshowers for tourcyclists where I also host some times. Nice to share experiences with people from other cultures and see new & old places with their eyes. Hopefully make new friends and get an opportunity to showcase my own town and country to them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Recently several good experiences with CS in Latinamerica and with SERVAS to Australia, NYC, California, Buenos Aires and Addis Abeba and biking with Warmshowers in Singapore, Malaysia, Belgium, Belarussia..
Have been travelling a lot this yr hence not had the possibility to host much though I had a nice visit from Iran - now already a good friend:-)

Interests

I like talking to friends, backpacking, hiking, crosscountry skiing, kayaking, photographing, good museums, rock, folk & jazz music , great mountains, good books and films where a little afterhought is needed, good (local) food etc
Copenhagen is a good city for much of that:-)

Tolkien The Ring (& the film, especially the first before the orks take too much over!), Babel (very intercultural film), Knausgaard Min Kamp (norwegian author writing a series on his own life - so vivid and honest in its description), jazz, folk, Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson, John Lennon and The Beatles, Coldplay etc etc..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Staying with couch surfer, SERVAS and Warmshower friends and their families in many countries, in an icecave in a snowstorm while doing crosscountry skiing and mountaineering in Norway, build a school in Nicaragua with local people and friends, hiking a volcano with my kids for 3 days in Lombok, Indonesia, Climbing Kilimanjaro, Mt. Kenya (almost!) and Mt. Blanc with good friends, Cycling Malaysia and Sri Lanka solo, flying balloon over Valley of the Kings, Luxor during sunrise, visiting the tribes in Omo Valley, Ethiopia and many more...the world is fantastic!
I've visited 80 countries by now and want more!
