About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to experience the unexpected! I want to meet as many different people as I can, in as many different places, and through it shape my own character and find a purpose to live for!
Also, to find my wooden leg!
ABOUT ME
I'm a fairly outgoing, sociable person. I will usually say yes to a new experience, and am willing to try most things once! I love to read, write, sketch, paint, and make music. I'm an average guitarist but I will play music with anyone, even if I'm out of my depth. Im the sort of person that can appreciate the more simple things in life, such as a cool beer in a nice bar, or a shady spot under a tree in the afternoon heat. On the other hand, if you want to talk about art, literature, philosophy or especially science, I would be happy to join you!
PHILOSOPHY
My heroes are people like Kerouac and Jack London. The former taught me that if you just go out, and live in your own way, then good people, experiences and opportunities will come to you, without the need to make plans or overthink what you're doing. The latter showed me the beauty and power of our world, with its mix of primitive instinct and complex civilisation. Both authors, plus many others, have contributed to my love of travel, people and nature.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had some of the best times of my life while couch surfing.
Joining a running group for a jog around London's south bank and seeing all the sights in a blur of sweat was an awesome experience! Going to the rodeo in Houston Texas and eating any food you can think of, chicken fried style.
Also hanging out in the antifascist bars of Hamburg and visiting tiny vegan cafes to eat vine leaves. Ive sat on many porches, roofs, balconies and piers enjoying delicacies such as spanish mojitos or sangria, German beer, Dutch coffee, or Texas barbecue. I hope there will be many more great experiences in store for me on my travels!
As for hosting, I haven't done much due to spending my free time on the road, and the fact that even when home, I live in a town so remote that I rarely ever get a request. The hosting I have done has been very rewarding however, and it feels good to give back into the community that has given me so much.
Interests
playing guitar, and sports such as rugby and volleyball. I also enjoy skiing and sailing. I like cooking and reading books, listening to music and sharing ideas with people.

Music, Movies, and Books
Some of my favourite books are: Into the Wild, Men of the Last Frontier, The Dice Man, On the Road (of course), As I Walked out one Midsummer Morning, The Call of the Wild, White Fang, The Man in the High Tower, 1984 and so many more.
My favourite films include: Searching for Sugar Man, Fight Club, the Departed, The Usual Suspects, V for Vendetta, Pineapple Express or anything else with Seth Rogen, and the harry potter movies cause they remind me of my childhood. I'm sure there are more but I'm tired and my brain can't recall them all.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've stood next to Europe's second tallest waterfall in Iceland, visited several active volcanoes, slept under the stars on deserted beaches, spent a winter skiing perfect powder in the alps, and i hitchhiked and couchsurfed across the whole of the USA solo, around my 19th birthday.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm happy to teach anyone a few chords on guitar, since I usually travel with one. Otherwise I can teach you how to cook a full Scottish breakfast (depending on the availability of haggis).
I will try to learn anything someone is willing to teach me. Especially languages or recipes!
