ABOUT ME (Fall 2010)

I'm starting life over. I live with my daughter in Cocoa Beach. She is in college and I have my business to work on. I have scaled back on much of the bullshit in life and look forward to meeting open minded non-judge mental people. I enjoy people, even strangers as long as they are positive and moving forward ...

11/19/18 ... I wrote that above paragraph years ago when I first started couch surfing ... I have taken so much fun from this ongoing "hobby" ... I'm not sure what to call it ... but I really enjoy hosting ... My general rule of thumb is to accept any and all ... but I have learned a few things over the years ... people ask me all the time if I've had any bad experiences ... the answer is not really ... there must always be some bad with the good, that's natural ... Let me put it this way ... No one has ever been asked to leave, but there were a handful of surfers that I was glad when they did... ;)

August 2022 Update ... I stopped CS'ing last year because COVID had made my work life unbearable meaning the LABOR SHORTAGE !! The last thing I wanted after killing myself at work was to come home and have someone under foot ...things seem to be getting a little better .. For now I doubt that I'll be hosting as prolifically as in the past but I look for things getting back to "normal" ...For the record I'm vaccinated / boosted1x and as far as I know .. never had COVID ........:)

PHILOSOPHY

So far hosting has been my calling. I am very busy with my business and have little time for travel at the moment. Hosting is a sort of shared travel experience so I get a lot out of sharing and finding out about other people's lives ...
11/19/18 ... I've started traveling more as my business has grown !! ... I'm seeing a lot of the United States for now ... almost 1 trip a month .. !!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We had 15 Surfers at my house for one shuttle launch .. everyone got along beautifully ... it was awesome ...

Update 11/2018 .... I have hosted over 700 CS'ers and counting (not profiles but total guests) ... I don't count but it has to be at least that many ... :)

Update August 2022 ... Artemis is coming !!!! I'm expecting a lot of "space surfers" requests ...

Interests

I'm interested in just about everything. I have dabbled in many things over my life ... sports of all kinds, language (always working on my spanish), I play guitar, I cook but not so much living alone, I have performed in musical theatre and stand up (comedy), i have been a pilot(private), I collect 1st editions, surfer(water that is)

2022 Update ... bought a power boat this year (so now I'm a captain ha ha) .. so doing a lot of boating lately ... j skiing and a sailor too ...:)

Music, Movies, and Books

I rarely watch movies anymore, a comedy is nice ... I like most kinds of music .. read mostly psychology, history,

2022 Update ... I watch a lot of Stand Up .. also traveling to see performances and following the new rising stars of comedy around the country, incorporating my love for comedy and travel ... trying to get back to my pre COVID schedule of monthly trips and shows ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

2022 Update ... my daughter and her boyfriend live in St Pete nowadays but still comes home to see the ole man and hang out a little ... she is the most happy person I know and I'm so happy for her ... :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach/share surfing, cooking, Jungian based psychology, my couch or spare room, the beach here, a beer, music, and the list goes on ...:)
Sometimes I forget what this area looks like to outside eyes ... and I'm often reminded through others how lucky I am to live in this special area here with all its natural offerings ... I have often taken surfers to my hometown and hometown beach Playalinda where I learned ocean swimming ... that excursion is as much for me as it is them ...

2022 Update ... I'm very busy these days and spend time with my guests if I have time available / or I do things that my CS'ers are welcome to join in on ...
