ABOUT ME

I live near the city centre of Bruges with my fiancé Lies. We are both very relaxed persons, easy going and always in for some fun and a good conversation.

Being a teacher I have sufficient free time to spent.
During the holidays I like traveling as much as possible, meeting people and experiencing the culture and customs of other countries, but during schoolyear I have many other interests:
I'm learning to play Guitar at the Bruges conservatorium, so I practise a lot. If I'm not doing that I'm busy making drawings, painting or sculpting 'cause that what I like doing best.

In the free time that's left I like to enjoy a good movie, read a book or comicbook or do some sports, in the summerweekend I sometimes go scubadiving in Holland or ride my motorbike through the Flemisch countryside.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We would like to host people in our house, so we can meet a lot of different people and learn more about other country's and cultures.

Brugge is an expensive city. By hosting others in our house, we can save them a lot of money on accommodation.

If we have time, we can show them around in our city. If not, we can give some info on places to visit.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I've mainly hosted people. Bruges is a expensieve city and a free couch to crash on is always much appreciated.

When I'm traveling I usually take a tent and (wild)camp along pitoresque riverbeds or fields. My last visit to Egypt I spent sleeping in the homes of people I met during the travel, looking back on that with good memories I'll start searching couches more often on my next trips...

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: blues, jazz, rock, rock'n roll, some country, anything besides the star-for-a-week-popmusic.

Movies: Almodovar, Burton, Tarantino, the Godfather (but liked the book better), Into the Wild and nearly all types of animations (except the Disney the-world-is-beautifull-let's-sing-a-song-animationmovies)

Books: I like reading books from like Gabriel-Garcia Marquez but I have to many other hobby's so the most reading I do is in comicbooks and graphic novels. I like that it combines good strong stories with artistic drawings or paintings, so I can get satisfaction on two fronts...
