We are Johann and Marelise from South Africa, specifically the Kruger National Park area situated in Nelspruit which is at the foothills of the Lebombo Mountains and close to the Blyde River Canyon.

We belonged to the Round Table which was basically Couch Surfing before the internet existed.

We have 4 sons and two grand children, for now.

We enjoy travelling and have toured Sub-Saharan Africa a few times and also travelled to Taiwan, Spain and Portugal.

We are now planning a trip to Europe to explore.

We have hosted a lot of people from all over the world through the Round Table, AirBnb and also Couch surfers who are friends of our sons over the past years and made countless very close friends.

Its time that we also start exploring the world and meet like minded Couch surfers and making even more friends.

We find Couch Surfing gives a genuine glimpse into the lives of the people in the places we travel to but also a much better perspective of the culture and the community in the area.

After all we want to be travellers when we visit and not just tourists.
